Full Activities Programme

Our dedicated team goes above and beyond to provide residents with a safe environment in which they are able to continue doing what makes them happy, whether it’s getting lost in a good book or enjoying a pamper in the Hair Salon; it’s important to us that residents are given everything they need to live the life they deserve.

Our Activity Coordinators curate a motivating and engaging Activities Programme that includes diverse activities including Arts & Crafts sessions, pet therapy as well as live entertainment. The team also organise excursions to the local community that allows residents to make the most of all that Pinhoe has to offer.

Alexander House strives to create a warm, community feel offering a variety of first-class facilities and amenities. From regular live events to quiet movie marathon afternoons, we hold a range of activities that residents are invited to enjoy on a daily basis. Offering opportunities where residents can socialise encourages friendships and bonds; our home is set up to enable residents to make their group living environment truly their own. Activities within the home as well as varied day trips and excursions to the local Pinhoe area ensure all residents are able to experience a fun and fulfilled life every day.

Our Sensory Room

Elderly people often present ‘sensorial decline’, such as presbyopia, age-related hearing loss, and the loss of the sense of touch, which can hinder sensory stimulation. In addition to this, the gradual loss of mobility also affects sensory pathways which we believe are fundamental to well-being. The different elements that are found in a Sensory Room allow us to stimulate and provide input to the most impaired senses and offer an activity that is free from cognitive demands, allowing residents to feel relaxed, happy and entertained.

All entertainment, activities and facilities are included within the overall all-inclusive fee, so residents don’t have to worry about spending any extra money.

We aim to offer a wide variety of entertainment and activity options, to appeal to all of our residents. From live musicians and dancers to quizzes, movie afternoons and pet therapy, our Activities Programme is created to be engaging, motivating and something all residents look forward to.
